Fret Not! The Last Guardian Still on the Horizon

Earlier this week, it was noticed that Sony had decided not to renew their trademark holding on the The Last Guardian. This, combined with a complete lack of publicity since last year’s E3 led many fans of previous Team Ico games to believe that the game had been scrapped.

Sony, who usually refuses to address rumors and speculation stepped down from their tower to announce to the people via Jim Reilly of Game Informer, that the game is “still in development.” They had nothing else to add. It appears that Sony is trying not to lose hype for one of their potential future blockbuster titles.

Team Ico’s HD re-release of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS3 may have held over fans for a short time, but gamers want The Last Guardian and, at this rate, I wouldn’t put my money on seeing it anytime in the next 6 months.
