A “sneak peak” video was uploaded to the official Pokémon YouTube channel today to give us our first taste of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. I opted for the word “teaser” however as I think “sneak peak” suggests something a little more exciting, like full gameplay footage. The hype level rises, regardless.

On a side note, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata confirmed that Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are indeed “full-remakes” of the original games, rather than sequels or spin-offs as some people theorized due to some the wording in the original announcement.

The announcement was made only yesterday, so we were unable to include them in the supplementary document for this financial briefing, but the latest installments from the Pokémon franchise, “Pokémon Omega Ruby” and “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” will be released globally for Nintendo 3DS in November this year. They are full-remakes of the Game Boy Advance “Pokémon Ruby” and “Pokémon Sapphire” games, which sold more than 5.44 million units in Japan and more than 16.22 million units worldwide.
