Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition compilation released on Steam

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, a compilation containing classic first-person shooter Duke Nukem 3D and three expansion packs for the game, has been released on Steam.

A collaboration between Devolver Digital, 3D Realms, and General Arcade, the Megaton Edition compilation contains the “Atomic Edition” of full game Duke Nukem 3D along with the following three expansion packs: Duke Caribbean: Life’s a Beach, Duke: Nuclear Winter, and Duke It Out In D.C.

According to a press release, the compilation also contains enhanced features such as “polished OpenGL visuals, SteamPlay support for PC and Mac, Steam achievements, and Steam Cloud support.”

“There is a whole generation of fans that may have heard of Duke Nukem 3D but never actually played it so it’s exciting to add a bit of polish to the game and the expansions for the first release on Steam,” said Scott Miller, founding partner at 3D Realms. “General Arcade has worked close with our team and hardcore fans across the world to make sure the Megaton Edition lives up to the Duke Nukem legacy.”

General Arcade and Devolver Digital apparently plan to offer continued support to Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition beyond its initial release, in the form of additional features such as Steamworks-enabled online multi-player, Linux support, and more expansion packs.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is available now on PC and Mac via Steam, priced at $9.99/€9.99/£6.99.
